GERM
Hi I'm Maggie!
I'm 20 years old from Meanjin/Brisbane Australia, and I love to express what I see and hear through art. I still have lots to learn, but I'm having so much fun finding my style. I work mainly with acrylic painting but I never shy away from other artforms such as sculpture and textiles. I tend to devlop my pieces through my surroundings, current affairs and the people I meet. Living in an urban, industrial environment, tends to expose the hidden chaos within the lives of everyone packed into a small city.
Amy Jane
My name's Amy Jane and I'm a multidisciplinary artist based in Meanjin. Through my practice, I'm exploring socio-policial issues, in particular, the impacts of the new and evolving digital landscape on our psychology and identity. I aim to expose and challenge harmful societal norms, such as the hierarchy of language and digiphrenia, encouraging the audience to analyse what many of us don't question.
PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I CONSUME, is an installation that is reminiscent of a digital dystopia. With key themes of idenity and consumerism. The work leaves the viewer questioning what they consume, and how it influences their perceptions and who they are.
Laylarh
Laylarh is a 22-year-old Meanjin based art photographer and collage artist who is guided by rich colours and a direct lens. Her photo work is an array of expressions of the young female, often entering an intimate space with her subjects, as her collage work aims at developing a utopian world of aesthetics. Laylarh is currently completing her Masters of Photography where she is examining the mass-production of images and its power on human desires.

Isabelle Cowan
Isabelle Cowan is a professional goblin and artist working in Meanjin. Her work in paint, print and drawing is reflective of an intense need to fill space and create matter where there is none. The work is fluid and reflexive, emphasising the fantastical and often expressive nature of the artist’s mark through material based mark making and rich colour. There is an immediate tension between the desire for ‘things’, and the purpose they hold in our everyday lives. The resulting work is a nostalgic and sometimes claustrophobic intertwining of anthropomorphic figures and objects, enhanced by morbid curiosity. Her fascination of found and second-hand objects is intertwined with her artistic practice and her lifestyle, as she collects, trades and hoards objects with her fellow artists and creators.
